• Thermal fogging: This process involves the use of a thermal fogger to create a dense fog of deodorising agents that penetrate surfaces and neutralise odours. Fog permeates textiles, upholstery, carpeting, small cracks, walls, ceilings, tough-to-reach areas in your home or business, absorbing smoke particles and thereby neutralising any odour. This is often a favoured technique for removing home and kitchen fire odours because it doesn’t just neutralise the odours, it also reduces health risks associated with carcinogenic debris.

• Hydroxyl generators: Like with ozone, this fire odour treatment generates hydroxyl radicals (OH) that break down odour-causing molecules in the air. The technology is similar to how the sun’s ultraviolet (UV-C) rays break apart water vapour. Hydroxyl radicals help decompose chemicals in the air, disintegrating inactivated odours, VOCs, viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms. The generator draws air into a filter chamber, charging it with germicidal UV-C light. Once released, this charged air is attracted to certain particulates in the air, which it neutralises. As part of an environmentally safe process, hydroxyl radicals are sometimes called “nature’s broom” and are essential to keeping our atmosphere free of harmful compounds.
  
  

• Air scrubbers: These machines work by filtering the air and removing odour-causing particles and contaminants. Especially helpful when ventilation isn’t an option, such as a business that has no windows, air scrubbers use carbon filtration to scour fine odour-causing particulates. Activated carbon filters not only absorb smoke and fire odours; they can help mitigate other strong odours such as petrochemical smells and sewer gas.
